Description

Benzoic acid is a compound comprising a benzene ring core carrying a carboxylic acid substituent. It occurs naturally in prunes, cinnamon, and cloves and widely used as a food preservative and in the manufacture of various cosmetics, dyes, plastics, and insect repellents.
